Laser & Intense Pulsed Light Treatments – UK Standards
Current Legislation
As of July 2019 the single piece of UK legislation that applies to the use of laser and intense pulse light is “The control of artificial Optical Radiation at Work Regulations 2010”. This law came into force on 27th April 2010 with the aim to protect workers (and others) from the risks to health from hazardous sources of artificial optical radiation (AOR). Laser and Intense Pulse Light Treatments are specifically described in this legislation and business must ensure that they comply with this.
The grades of the various Skintastic Aesthetics Ltd courses (from Grade 3 to Grade 6) follow the ‘LIPLED’ treatment training guidelines outlined in the Competency Framework published by Health Education England /Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners.
