Tadalafil 10mg Tablets
Prescription-Only Medication (POM)
Product Overview:
Tadalafil is a medication used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men and is also used to manage symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). It is a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor that works by increasing blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation, helping to achieve and maintain an erection. Tadalafil has a long duration of action, with effects lasting up to 36 hours, which is why it is sometimes referred to as the "weekend pill."
Indications:
Tadalafil is prescribed for the treatment of:
Erectile Dysfunction (ED) in adult men.
Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), which helps to alleviate symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, and difficulty urinating.
Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) (under specific indications).
Dosage and Administration:
For Erectile Dysfunction: The recommended starting dose is 10mg, taken as needed, at least 30 minutes before sexual activity. Based on effectiveness and tolerance, the dose may be adjusted to 20mg. Tadalafil should not be taken more than once a day.
For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH): The recommended dose is 5mg once daily, taken at the same time each day, with or without food.
For Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH), a dose of 40mg once daily is typically used, but it should only be taken under a healthcare provider’s supervision.
Warnings and Precautions:
Tadalafil should only be used under the supervision of a healthcare professional.
