Laser IPL Hair Removal

This course is provided by one of the originators of this technique, who helped to develop it in the mid 1990s with one of the world’s first IPL systems. Mike noticed that hair could be ‘removed’ with a ruby laser back in the 1980s when he was carrying out tattoo removal. He has over 30 years experience with a range of lasers and many treatments, and is recognised around the world as a leading expert in this subject.
Training Option :1 Day Course
Training Price :£ 500

Location :Mike is based in Glasgow but is happy to travel to your location, in most circumstances. He can also provide some training via Zoom.
Overview :Hair follicles can be permanently destroyed if all its germ cells are thermally denatured. This is achievable using laser or IPL light energy - but only if these are applied correctly. Many operators obtain poor results simply because they don’t understand how to use their equipment properly. They don’t have sufficient knowledge of the physics and biology of the processes. This course will provide you with that knowledge.
Models :Models will be provided, when required.
Accreditation :This course is not CPD accredited, as yet.
Key Features :Key Features: This course is presented by a physicist/bioengineer who has worked in medical/cosmetic lasers since 1986 and IPLs since 1992. He has been involved in clinical and theoretical research, and training, for nearly 40 years. He brings a unique insight into the field of laser/IPL treatments.
Criteria :No criteria are required to do this course.
Schedule :Part 1 Introduction to lasers and IPLs How light travels through the skin Absorption and scattering Hair follicles and their growth cycles How light energy heats up follicles The physics of thermal denaturation Part 2 How to choose the correct wavelength, fluence, pulsewidth, spot size, rep rate Hair and skin colours How to cool the skin properly Treating thick and thin hairs Preventing scar tissue formation How to choose the optimum time between sessions Part 3 Hands-on practice Setting up a laser/IPL properly Applying the correct cooling Post treatment care
