Earfold Aftercare Form

Introduction:
The Earfold procedure offers a minimally invasive solution for those wishing to correct the prominence of their ears. By using a specially designed implant, the ear is repositioned closer to the head, resulting in a more natural appearance. Adhering to post-procedure care guidelines is essential for ensuring satisfactory results and minimising risks.

Immediate Aftercare (First Week):
Following the Earfold procedure, it's common to experience some swelling, bruising, and mild discomfort around the ear area. To manage these symptoms, over-the-counter pain relief can be taken as directed, and it's recommended to sleep with your head elevated for the first few nights. Avoid touching or unnecessarily adjusting the ears. It's also crucial to keep the area clean and dry; refrain from washing your hair for the first 48 hours. If dressings or bandages were applied, follow your surgeon's instructions regarding when and how to remove or replace them.

Continued Care & Monitoring:
In the weeks following the procedure, be cautious not to apply direct pressure on the ears, such as when wearing headbands or hats. Maintain cleanliness of the ear area and check regularly for signs of infection, including increased redness, warmth, discharge, or persistent pain. Avoid strenuous activities or any actions that could cause trauma to the ears for at least a month. Schedule and attend all follow-up appointments with your practitioner to assess the healing process and the final positioning of the ears. If any unexpected symptoms or concerns arise, such as signs of an allergic reaction to the implant, promptly contact your healthcare provider.
