Introduction:
AccuLift provides targeted facial contouring through laser technology. To ensure optimal results and minimise the risk of complications, it is essential to adhere to the post-procedure care instructions outlined below.
Immediate Aftercare (First 24-48 Hours):
- Swelling & Bruising: Some swelling and bruising are normal after the procedure. Use a cold compress to alleviate these symptoms. Always wrap the cold compress in a cloth to avoid direct contact with the skin.
- Rest: Elevate your head when lying down to help reduce swelling. Try to sleep on your back.
- Avoid Physical Exertion: Refrain from any strenuous activities or exercises that may increase blood flow to the face.
- Diet: Opt for soft foods and avoid chewing extensively to minimise movement and strain around the treated areas.
Continued Care (Days 3 and Beyond):
- Hygiene: Keep the treated area clean. However, avoid rubbing or using harsh products.
- Sun Protection: Limit sun exposure to the treated areas. When outdoors, use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30.
- No Smoking: Smoking can impede the healing process. If possible, abstain from smoking for at least a week post-procedure.
- Limit Alcohol: Alcohol can increase swelling. Consider limiting or avoiding alcohol for a few days after the procedure.
Potential Issues to Monitor:
- Extended Swelling or Bruising: While some swelling and bruising are expected, if these symptoms persist beyond a week, consult your practitioner.
- Signs of Infection: If you notice increasing redness, warmth, pus, or if you experience severe pain, it could be an indication of an infection. Seek medical attention immediately.
Follow-Up Appointments:
Attend any scheduled post-procedure sessions or check-ups with your practitioner. These visits allow for the monitoring of healing progress and addressing any concerns or complications early.
